We are seeking to appoint a permanent Older Adult Psychiatry Consultant to join our team dedicated to delivering older adult mental health services in the Highlands. The post holder will provide consultant input to our community team covering Mid Ross (Dingwall, Strathpeffer) and Easter Ross (Alness, Invergordon, Tain), for both primary and organic mental disorders. The role is supported by a well-established community mental health team, with an experienced Associate Specialist supporting nurse-led care home liaison.
The post is based at New Craigs Hospital, where inpatient care is provided, and involves participation in the Consultant on-call rota (1:15). The job plan can be developed flexibly, with opportunities for special interests aligned with service needs, including community, inpatient, liaison, or young-onset dementia services. The role offers an 8:2 split between Direct Clinical Care and SPA sessions.
The successful candidate will be supported by a cohesive team of clinicians and will participate in continuing professional development and peer supervision. Regular consultant peer group meetings and educational events are organized as part of our in-house programme.
