A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist for its Forensic and Prison services. This position involves leading service development, providing expert psychological support, and participating in training programs for Clinical Psychology. The ideal candidate will have experience in forensic psychology and risk assessment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Forensic and Prison service in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
Working alongside colleagues in Mental Health, Forensics, Prisons and Psychology you will take the lead on developing a robust and fit for purpose service for NHS Highlands. Knowledge of relevant policies and government initiatives is essential, as is experience in service development and staff management.
The role requires you to be confident in providing expert forensic psychological guidance, consultation, and support to interdisciplinary teams involved in the formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plans for clients facing forensic issues. You will have experience of performing risk assessments and managing risks for individual clients, making necessary adjustments to psychological interventions, and advising psychologists and other professionals on risk assessment and management strategies for relevant clients.
This role is hosted in Psychological Services and works in to the Forensic and Prison Healthcare services in NHS Highland. As Consultant Psychologist you will attend the Psychology Senior Management meetings and be expected to contribute to the Psychology Service as a whole. The Psychology Service is a training department for the East and South of Scotland doctoral course in Clinical Psychology, the Dundee University CBT training course and the MSc in Applied Psychology for Stirling and Dundee Universities.
