About the Role

They are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to oversee operations in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is critical for the successful execution of commercial building projects, ensuring that all activities on-site are managed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Site Manager will be responsible for coordinating trades, managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project plans and safety regulations, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to lead significant projects and contribute to the growth of a reputable construction firm. You will be the primary on-site representative, driving project progress and upholding the company's commitment to excellence in construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all daily on-site construction activities.
• Coordinate and direct subcontractors, site staff, and labor.
• Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality specifications.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
• Manage site logistics, including material delivery, equipment, and temporary facilities.
• Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients regarding site issues.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, safety logs, and progress updates.
• Resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly and effectively.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with building codes and regulations in Stellenbosch .

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in site management or a similar supervisory role in commercial construction.
• Proven experience in managing commercial building projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in site management software and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Valid First Aid and Safety certification is a plus.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Western Cape region.
