Construction Project Manager - Renewable Energy

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our consulting engineering team specializing in renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage.

This role involves responsibilities as an Owner's Engineer (OE), providing technical oversight, construction management, and quality assurance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility-scale renewable energy construction, project coordination, and stakeholder management. The position can be based either in our Cape Town or Johannesburg office.

Initial 6-month on-site assignment to oversee the construction phase of a renewable energy project in the Western Cape. Subsequently, the role will involve project management duties from either Cape Town or Johannesburg offices until the next project commences.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
2. 7+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in renewable energy (solar PV, wind, BESS).
3. Prior experience as an Owner's Engineer or in EPC oversight roles is strongly preferred.
4. Strong understanding of utility-scale renewable energy construction practices and standards.
5. Knowledge of permitting, interconnection, and environmental compliance.
6. Proficiency in project management tools and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
7. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
8. Ability to travel to project sites as required.
9. Relevant certifications such as PMP, CEM, SACPCMP, or ECSA accreditation.
