Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Professional certifications or memberships (e.g., PMP, Project Management, or equivalent) are a plus
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with significant experience in large-scale projects
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-party construction projects from feasibility through to commissioning
- Experience with EPC contract negotiations and selection processes
- Demonstrated ability to work with project owners, stakeholders, and suppliers to achieve project goals
- In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, NEMA, etc.)
- Strong understanding of project finance and its implications on project execution
- Prior leadership experience with cross-functional teams and high-level decision-making
Responsibilities
- Lead the construction team to successfully execute large-scale projects from development to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Make final decisions on construction feasibility during the project development stage, ensuring that all risks are properly assessed and mitigated
- Manage the selection of suppliers and contractors, ensuring that agreements are in place and in compliance with the company's standards and goals
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction projects, providing clear direction and resolving any issues that may arise
- Coordinate with internal departments (Project Development, Risk, Engineering) and external stakeholders (suppliers, consultants, clients) to ensure smooth project delivery
- Implement and monitor project management frameworks (e.g., PMBOK) to ensure projects are on track and meet financial and technical specifications
- Identify and manage risks throughout the construction process, ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and environmental standards
- Develop and review project reports, ensuring effective communication and timely updates to the CEO and other key stakeholders
- Mentor and lead the construction team, fostering a collaborative environment while driving performance and project success
