Our client, a company situated in Johannesburg, who offers turnkey bulk materials handling solutions from concept design to commissioning and hand over are looking to employ a Construction Manager on a Power Station in Standerton.
Requirements:
- Must have a SACPCMP certificate.
Fixed term contract with strong possibility of becoming permanent.
Overview:
Overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction activities during planned power station shutdowns, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion of projects within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage construction plans, timelines, and budgets for outage projects.
- Resource Management: Ensure adequate resources (labor, materials, equipment) are available and utilized effectively.
- Safety Management: Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures on the construction site.
- Quality Control: Monitor and ensure that all construction activities meet the required quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with the construction project.
- Project Execution: Oversee the day-to-day construction activities, ensuring that work progresses on schedule and within budget.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and other relevant parties.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or problems that arise during the construction process.
- Post-Outage Review: Conduct post-outage reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Specific to Power Station Outages:
- Understanding Power Station Operations: You'll need a strong understanding of power station operations and the specific requirements of outage work.
- Coordination with Outage Teams: You'll need to work closely with outage planners, maintenance teams, and other relevant personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient outage process.
