Job summary

Amazon Spain Services, S.L.U. offers a 6‑month full‑time internship in construction management, based in Madrid or Barcelona.

You will observe Amazon Construction Managers, coordinate with contractors, and participate in meetings and contract negotiations to drive on-schedule, on-budget project delivery. The program emphasizes learning across construction, engineering, planning, and facilities management, with strong support, learning sessions, and potential for future roles.

Qualifications

Key job responsibilities

• Observing the implementation and management of Amazon's safety programs and standards with the entire internal and external project team.
• Supporting the construction team to ensure that the skills and competencies of contract labor are appropriate to need and fit to undertake the work.
• Witnessing comprehensive budget, schedule tracking and forecasting which strives for frugality and accomplishing more with less while identifying and solving factors that may impede a successful project hand-over to Amazon stakeholders.
• Studying the coordination with the authorities that have jurisdiction on the project to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth job execution.
• Partnering with internal customers and external stakeholders to earn trust and engage as a team to deliver results.
• Insisting on the highest standards by supporting the team to ensure contracted resources deliver work meeting duration and quality targets.
• Supporting construction managers to ensure all internal and external team members maintain schedules and budgets.
• Supporting more than one project in various locations, with potential travel to project sites.

A day in the life

Location: Madrid or Barcelona

Start Date: Flexible between January - March 2027. We don't offer 2026 start dates.

Duration: 6 months minimum

This is not a remote internship opportunity

Each day you will be observing Amazon Construction Managers act as owners to ensure the safe, on-time, and in-budget execution of Amazon construction projects. You may be asked to participate in daily tasks in support of the team, which may include coordinating with contractors on projected changes and project status, ensuring contractors are meeting their contractual obligations, seeking sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions throughout the construction process while implementing Amazon's green building practices, and utilizing Amazon information systems to record and update scheduling, budget, and other key developments. You may also observe and assist in negotiating terms of contracts with contractors, all while driving them to meet or exceed agreed-to schedules and budgets. Additionally, you will observe and may participate in weekly architect, owner, and contractor meetings, providing input on root causes and corrective action.

This internship provides familiarization across construction, engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management — giving you a well‑rounded view of how Amazon delivers innovative physical assets from design review through final hand‑off.

Basic Qualifications

• Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
• Can sign a learning agreement with the University in which you are enrolled
• Currently in your penultimate or final year and working towards a university bachelor’s or master’s in Engineering, Construction Management or comparable field.
• Available for a full-time internship (40 hours/week) and commit to 6 month internship
