Job Title : Construction Manager
Location : Gauteng, Johannesburg Metro, Johannesburg
Job Type : 4-month Contract, expected to work full-time hours

Job Duties :
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Develop detailed construction plans and schedules.
- Define project scope, timelines, resources, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and clients.
- Ensure all permits, contracts, and legal requirements are in place.
- Team Management
- Hire, lead, and manage site supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and tradespeople.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor performance.
- Resolve labour or subcontractor issues.
- Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor project budgets and expenses.
- Approve purchase orders and manage procurement.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Progress Monitoring
- Track progress against the project timeline.
- Adjust schedules to account for delays or unexpected issues.
- Report regularly to stakeholders on status and risks.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the site meets all health and safety standards.
- Conduct audits and manage risk assessments.
- Implement corrective actions if there are compliance issues.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure construction work meets specified standards and client expectations.
- Conduct site inspections and sign off on milestones.
- Handle snag lists and ensure proper project handover.
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- SACPCMP certification
Experience :
Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management
Knowledge and Skills :
- Proficiency in project management software
- Understanding of budgeting and financial management
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Understanding of construction drawings, materials, and methods
- Knowledge of construction law and safety regulations
- Experience in supervising teams and coordinating trades
- Proven experience as a construction manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
