Job summary

RecruitMyMom is seeking a part-time Finance lead in Goodwood, South Africa to oversee accounting and reporting for a construction business. Three full days per week or five mornings per week in-office, with VAT, provisional tax, audits, and monthly management accounts.

The role reports to the MD and Commercial Director, handling balance sheets, cash flow, and project accounting, and requires 5+ years in construction finance with a professional accounting designation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a related field.
• Experience with VAT, provisional tax, and audits.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls and statutory reporting.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience leading finance staff or teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and variance analysis.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain audit trails.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and provisional tax computations.
• Facilitate year-end audit processes with external auditors.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and debtor/creditor reporting.
• Oversee project accounting elements such as WIP, retainers, subcontractor costs, and working capital.
