Big-5 Wildlife Monitoring & Conservation Project - Assistant Manager

Located near Phalaborwa, the Big-5 Wildlife Monitoring & Conservation Project is seeking an Assistant Manager.

We are looking for a dynamic, responsible, precise, and hardworking candidate with a positive attitude towards customer care. Strong organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with emails, bookings, social media, daily camp organization, rosters, grocery lists, and reporting to the director.
  2. Coordinate transfers to and from the program.
  3. Organize excursions and liaise with agencies.
  4. Support marketing efforts.
  5. Assist the lead project manager in overseeing conservation projects, including planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  6. Work with municipal staff, community stakeholders, and other organizations to achieve conservation goals.
  7. Participate in project planning, developing timelines, budgets, and work plans.
  8. Coordinate communication among project teams and stakeholders.
  9. Collect and analyze data to monitor project progress and effectiveness.
  10. Prepare reports on project outcomes and findings.
  11. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing documents, and logistics coordination.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Formal qualification in conservation or related fields is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of conservation principles, ecological concepts, biodiversity, and strategies.
  • Project management skills with the ability to plan and organize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Data analysis and reporting abilities.
