Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a detail-oriented Confirmations / Investment Administrator to join their team. In this key role, you will be responsible for confirming Bond, Unit Trust, and Money Market trades, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and promptly. You will enrich data from the Front Office Order Management system and support the Front Office team in executing market trades. Job description

Confirmations / Investment Administrator

Leading Asset Management firm seeks a detail-oriented individual. This key role involves confirming Bond, Unit Trust, and Money Market trades in Institutional Operations. The role includes enriching data from the Front Office (FO) Order Management system to ensure accurate feeding into the Investment system. Support the FO team to ensure all market trades are correctly instructed and settled. This is a contract role.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure Capital Market, Money Market, and Unit Trust deals are processed promptly.
  2. Complete reporting and reconcile daily deals with the matching team.
  3. Review internal checklists and systems to ensure accurate transaction processing.
  4. Verify that security setups match deal sheets.
  5. Ensure systems are updated correctly to reflect information for proper instrument valuation.
  6. Manage cash flow timely and send updates to the dealing room.
  7. Facilitate new futures and options deals.
  8. Manage and resolve reconciliation, audit, and ad hoc queries promptly.
  9. Maintain and update the daily log for all issues, including P&L amounts, for reporting.
  10. Compile month-end reports.
  11. Review current processes, suggest improvements, and assist in increasing automation.
  12. Maintain and update system and process documentation.
  13. Keep records of deal tickets and confirmations.
  14. Support Trade Processing to eliminate processing gaps.
  15. Provide high-level service delivery to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or relevant field.
  • Experience in Back Office Confirmations or related roles.
  • JSE Bond Settlement Officer experience is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Financial Instruments.
  • Experience with Investment Management systems and Excel.
