Job description

We are looking for a Conceptual Copywriter to join our creative team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):
  1. Craft copy that’s suited to social formats without sacrificing its quality.
  2. Work closely with the creative teams (designers, art directors, etc.) and share constructive views.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to bring value and cohesion.
  4. Understand the brief thoroughly to ensure clarity before starting tasks and seek solutions.
  5. Maintain on-brand writing and adapt tone of voice for different clients.
  6. Handle projects of various sizes and be invested in the final product.
  7. Understand social media platforms, tools, and fundamentals of content marketing.
  8. Learn quickly about latest social media formats, trends, and audience behaviors to keep work relevant.
  9. Appreciate creative strategy and show curiosity about business operations.
  10. Present ideas and concepts confidently to the team.
  11. Practice cross-channel thinking and contribute creative solutions.
  12. Innovate with formats and platforms to produce ground-breaking work.
  13. Support and advise junior team members.
  14. Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and tonal accuracy.
  15. Provide relevant feedback and input.
  16. Apply strategic thinking to analyze situations and respond with solutions.
  17. Stay updated on advertising trends and industry best practices.
Qualifications and requirements:
  1. Tertiary qualification in Copywriting / Digital Copywriting.
  2. Proficient in Office365 (MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  3. Strong experience as a MW Copywriter in an advertising or digital agency.
  4. TTL & digital experience is essential.
  5. Knowledge of digital writing, industry trends (Twitter spaces, metaverse), and principles of best practice.
  6. Understanding social platforms and paid formats.
  7. Own social media account or regular consumer of social media, familiar with TikTok (beneficial).
  8. Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
  9. Strong presentation and time management skills.
  10. Ability to multitask across campaigns and briefs.
  11. Portfolio demonstrating TTL & digital work.
