To spearhead and supervise various specialist compliance initiatives, practices, programmes, and projects within the organization or segment, ensure efficiency and smooth workflow. As a practice leader, identify project needs, participate in setting goals and objectives for the practice discipline, and enable implementation by providing practice knowledge, expertise, guidance, and advice to stakeholders.

Are you someone who can:

  • Advise on and provide guidance and support to stakeholders regarding the execution of financial crime legislation, frameworks, policies, processes, and tools.
  • Provide guidance and advisory services, and consult with business stakeholders to recommend controls and processes to ensure legislative compliance and informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, legislative, and policy requirements from different jurisdictions.
  • Participate in activities that support your own and employee development.
  • Interpret emerging legislation and changes in relevant regulations for impact analysis; ensure internal monitoring plans, working papers, and practices are aligned accordingly.
  • Report on Financial Crime (including ABC) profiles and associated regulatory risks to governance committees and stakeholders in a meaningful, timely, and concise manner.
  • Continuously improve operational processes to add value.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of controls.
  • Drive the implementation and monitoring of the Anti-Bribery and Corruption programme.
  • Utilize data analytics during financial crime reviews and validations to create efficiencies and ongoing monitoring opportunities.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Hold a BCom, LLB, or a bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline, Information/Data Management, Legal, Compliance, or Auditing.
  • Possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field (advantageous).
  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Regulatory, Monitoring/Audit, or similar environments.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in a financial institution.
