Compliance Officer : Tax Focus | Financial Services | Cape Town

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer with strong tax and legal expertise to oversee and ensure full regulatory compliance within a financial services firm. The successful candidate will provide strategic guidance on compliance matters, maintain updated knowledge of all applicable legislation, and ensure timely execution of company secretarial duties. This role requires excellent legal acumen, deep understanding of Sharia law, and a firm grasp of corporate governance standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Monitor regulatory compliance across applicable South African and global legislation.
  • Ensure tax and statutory filings, board meeting deadlines, and governance requirements are consistently met.
  • Advise on financial services law, contract, and corporate legal frameworks.
  • Maintain legal and regulatory compliance across internal and external reporting functions.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • B.Com with LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court.
  • 4–6 years post-articles in financial services law.
  • Strong commercial legal, tax, and contract background.
  • Working knowledge of Sharia law is essential.
  • Sound understanding of corporate governance, FICA, FAIS, and related frameworks.
