Compliance Officer (Non-Life and Life Insurance)

Our leading niche insurer client, based in Johannesburg, is looking for your skills in the role of a Compliance Officer. Their business is to provide their business partners and insurance clients with the ability to participate in the risk and benefits related to their individual insurance business.

With your minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience and a proven track record in an end-to-end compliance function within the insurance sector, you will assist the group’s Head of Risk & Compliance in the management of compliance across the whole of the group and its licenced subsidiaries, comprising of mainly non-life business, but also includes some Life businesses.

You will need:

1. A legal degree (LLB and/or BCom Law) in terms of FAIS
2. To (ideally) be an admitted attorney of the High Court of SA
3. Strong knowledge of the Financial Services Industry, Insurance legislation and regulations including the Insurance Act, the Long- and Short-Term Insurance Acts, PPR, Regulations, FAIS, General Code of Conduct, POPI and TCF principles
4. An understanding of the SAIA and ASISA standards and general legislation applicable to the greater business environment
