A leading company is seeking a Compliance Manager in Johannesburg, responsible for implementing compliance frameworks and ensuring adherence to regulations. This role involves conducting audits, developing compliance policies, and building collaborative relationships across teams. Ideal candidates will possess a BCom in Compliance and have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.

To ensure the implementation of the Group's compliance frameworks and programmes in consultation with the business, ensuring conformance and adherence to regulations, and delivering through a team of Compliance resources and specialists.
Ensure adherence to organisational policies and procedures, especially regulatory and ethical standards.
Perform regular audits, design control systems, and help develop and implement company policies.
Analyse and interpret regulation and legislation, using a risk-based approach.
Identify and risk-rate applicable laws and regulations for responsible business units. Develop and implement the compliance/legislative universe for responsible business units. Create and execute Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs) for core legislative and regulatory provisions. Develop monitoring plans indicating the methodology and frequency of compliance monitoring. Prepare monitoring reports based on monitoring results. Report incidents to ensure timely escalation of compliance risks and incidents.
Interpret regulation and legislation, assisting business units with practical implementation. Advise management on systems, policies, processes, and controls to enable compliance. Research and communicate legislative developments to stakeholders. Promote a culture of compliance and awareness through participation in projects and training. Provide training on regulatory requirements to channels.
Ensure compliance with statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements. Implement and review policies, governance, and practice standards across the business. Maintain knowledge of legislative amendments, industry best practices, and internal procedures. Ensure compliance is integrated into systems and procedures, reviewing in response to audits and changes.
Develop understanding of risks and risk management strategies. Implement and contribute to governance and compliance procedures, identifying risks. Control expenditure and suggest process improvements to reduce costs. Manage and report on budget usage to ensure delivery within parameters.
Build relationships across teams to enhance collaboration and innovation. Deliver excellent customer service aligned with organisational values and standards. Provide accurate business intelligence and trend analysis to improve decisions. Report regularly on service delivery against SLAs and customer targets. Gather information to review work progress, aiding reporting and decision-making.
Implement and monitor business processes according to quality, policy, compliance, and governance standards. Align and implement end-to-end processes based on customer journey maps. Research and enable technological and platform improvements. Review and suggest process improvements to drive efficiencies and reduce redundancies. Monitor customer feedback and adjust processes accordingly.
Participate actively in compliance projects and training initiatives. Provide regulatory training to channels. Ensure adherence to statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements. Develop and enforce compliance policies and standards across the business. Educate and suggest improvements to others. Participate in risk forums and contribute to strategic planning.
Develop operational plans aligned with business objectives. Implement and oversee the organisation's compliance programme. Maintain awareness of regulatory frameworks, including FAIS, and ensure ongoing compliance. Manage and monitor compliance of financial services representatives, including licensing and regulatory obligations. Lead and organize the AML/KYC team, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Develop collaborative relationships and foster teamwork and inclusivity. Manage team performance and participate in development activities.
BCom in Compliance or equivalent
5 to 7 years' experience in compliance. Good overall knowledge of key legislation.
