Qualifications

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse and health care legislation.
• Relevant experience in the nursing discipline.

Responsibilities

• Consistency of care: maintain documentation, ensure stock is charged, assist with file compilation.
• Governance, quality and risk management: maintain safe environment, adhere to waste management principles, report risks, control stock, maintain equipment; supervise ENAs and protect patient confidentiality.
• Patient care: provide care within scope of practice, contribute to holistic care, participate in ward quality improvements, attend handover, communicate with patients, promote wellbeing, follow infection prevention practices, maintain good patient relations, execute procedures to hospital standards, refer complaints.
• Teamwork: support ENA education and training, participate as a team member.
• Personal and professional development: pursue ongoing development, keep policies updated, maintain CPR competence.
• Stakeholder relationships: work with others to build mutual relationships and accomplish goals.
