Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Community Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and appeal of Soweto’s public and communal spaces. You will help create a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors, adhering to hygiene standards.

The role involves outdoor work, operating cleaning equipment, and reporting maintenance issues to support a vibrant Soweto community. Competitive salary and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, janitorial services, or outdoor maintenance is advantageous.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, lifting) for extended periods.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular cleaning and sanitization of public areas (streets, parks, community centers).
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment where applicable.
• Manage waste collection and disposal of litter and debris.
• Report graffiti, vandalism, or maintenance issues observed in public spaces.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
• Assist with seasonal cleaning and beautification projects.
