Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Community Health Worker Coordinator in Benoni to lead a team delivering primary healthcare services, education, and disease prevention at the community level.

You will supervise, train, and support CHWs, ensuring resources and guidance are available to serve assigned areas. Strong leadership and communication are required to advance public health outcomes in Gauteng communities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Community Health, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
• 3+ years in a supervisory/coordination role as a Community Health Worker.
• Strong understanding of primary healthcare and public health in Benoni.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and motivate teams effectively.
• Proficiency in data collection and reporting for health programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Community Health Workers.
• Develop and implement training programs for health workers on education and basic clinical skills.
• Monitor activities of health workers and ensure protocol compliance.
• Coordinate patient care and referrals with local clinics and facilities.
• Collect and analyze data on outreach activities and health indicators.
• Ensure adequate supply of health education materials and basic medical supplies.
