Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government in Paarl invites applications for a role supporting communities to access government services. You will determine community needs and communicate them to relevant structures, promote networks to improve service delivery, and compile progress reports on actions taken and outcomes.

The position requires Grade 12 or equivalent, strong understanding of public services, and excellent report writing plus written and verbal communication skills.

Formación

• Grade 12 certificate (NQF level 4) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of applicable policies, legislation, guidelines, standards, procedures and best practices in the public services.
• Understanding of communities in the Western Cape and their functioning.
• Facilitation skills for public participation in policy making and service delivery.
• Strong report writing and written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Inform and assist communities in the Western Cape with access to services provided by government structures.
• Determine the needs of communities and communicate them to the relevant structures.
• Promote networks and enhance the activities of existing local community workers aimed at improved service delivery.
• Compile reports and documents on progress, issues attended to, actions taken and outcomes as required.
• Keep up to date regarding all services rendered by government and the processes and mechanisms to access the services.

Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (NQF level 4).
• Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Applicable policies, legislation, guidelines, standards, procedures and best practices in the public services; Composition of communities in the Western Cape and their functioning; Facilitating skills to public participation in policy making and service delivery.
• Skills in the following: Project organisation, interpersonal, report writing and reporting; Proven computer literacy (MS Office); Self-management and adherence to timelines; Written and verbal communication skills.

Duties
