We’re looking for an experienced Communication Practitioner to implement the internal communications plan for the business unit. This role provides tactical support to relevant stakeholders regarding External Communication, Community Relations, Social Impact, and Government Relations, aligned with Sappi SA’s communication strategy and policies, guidelines, and best practices.
As a Communication Practitioner, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing operational communication to support business strategies for key stakeholders.
- Providing operational and administrative support for the execution of relevant projects and plans.
- Supporting the Communication Manager Operations in compiling the departmental internal communication budget.
- Writing content for various communication tools including newsletters, flyers, posters, and video scripting and storyboarding.
- Overseeing production processes such as photography, proofreading, field testing, and graphic design.
- Ensuring the application of Sappi's Corporate Identity to maintain a professional and cohesive corporate image.
- Undertaking brand audits and overseeing the replacement of branding materials, including banners and other corporate materials.
- Coordinating and executing key events such as Long Service Events, Retirement Events, and GM Review Meetings.
- Supporting departments in organizing events like Global Safety Week and Women’s Day.
- Assisting the GM’s office in planning and coordinating visits from key customers and senior government officials.
- Measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of internal communication tools, channels, and messages, including newsletter readership and project impacts.
- Generating weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual communication reports.
- Participating in departmental planning and review meetings.
- Conducting formal and informal communication research as required and compiling reports.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of three years’ relevant experience.
- Code 08 driver’s license with at least three years of driving experience and own transport.
