Placements24 is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our Paarl team. You will support the communications function, helping to execute strategies, disseminate content, and ensure smooth operations for PR and marketing initiatives.

The role emphasizes media relations support, content creation, and event coordination, requiring detail-oriented admin skills and a willingness to grow in the communications field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in a communications, PR, or marketing support role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic understanding of social media platforms.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of communication plans and campaigns.
• Support media outreach efforts, including maintaining media contact lists and pitching stories.
• Help create and edit communication materials such as press releases, blog posts, and social media updates.
• Coordinate logistics for press conferences, media events, and internal communications.
• Monitor media coverage and assist in preparing reports on campaign performance.
• Manage internal communication channels and ensure timely dissemination of information.
• Provide administrative support to the communications team, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
