Introduction:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Communication Support Worker Level 3 to join our team. You will support individuals with communication difficulties, facilitating their participation in daily activities using communication aids and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support individuals with speech and language impairments, including deaf, hard of hearing, or other communication disorders.
  • Use communication methods and assistive technologies to improve communication.
  • Collaborate with professionals to develop communication strategies.
  • Assist clients in various environments to meet their communication needs.
  • Advocate for clients' communication rights and promote inclusive practices.
  • Train clients, families, and caregivers in communication techniques.
  • Keep accurate records of support activities and progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma or degree in relevant fields such as Communication Disorders, Deaf Studies, or Special Education.
  • Experience supporting individuals with communication needs, preferably Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) and other communication modes like Makaton or AAC.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills adaptable to client needs.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
