Job Description

  • The Purchasing department of Robert Bosch in Midrand is looking to employ a Commodity Buyer as part of their team.

Duties will include but are not limited to the following :

  • Develop and implement category strategies for Facilities Management and IT within the Sub-Saharan Region
  • To conduct comprehensivespend analysis to identify key areas for improvement
  • Drive innovation and development within the category
  • Identify and engage with strategic suppliers to enhance the supplier strategy
  • Lead sourcing projects and initiatives for the category, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure they deliver value beyond cost, such as innovation, quality, and sustainability
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to align category strategies with business objectives
  • Develop long-term partnerships with key suppliers
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the category, continuously assessing and improving performance
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the category and industry trends
  • Exhibit strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with excellent project management and leadership skills
  • Utilize proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to drive category performance
  • Influence and drive change within the organization to achieve long-term category growth and development
  • Enhance value from supplier relationships, fostering continuous improvement and driving innovation within the category

Qualifications

Education

  • University degree in economic / commercial sciences or related field
  • A post-graduate purchasing or supply chain management qualification would be advantageous
  • CIPS Level 4 completion would be an advantage
  • Strong IT skills in MS Office packages
  • Good communications skills on all levels, fluencyin English essential

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a comparable multi-national company in a similar role
  • Computer literate with very good skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
