Job description

All on-site commissioning needs to be verified and signed off by the commissioning engineer before the project is handed over to the operational team.

Objectives and Main Functions of the Job

• Collaborate with the data center design team to understand the data center designs for new fit-out projects as well as system upgrade projects.
• Review and approve all commissioning and system testing strategies for each project.
• Create a commissioning plan for each project to track commissioning targets.
• Commission all systems during project fit-out with design consultants.

Electrical and Mechanical Systems

• Commission all systems as per design requirements for all levels (L1 to L5).
• Sign off on all quality and installation requirements.
• Review method statements for switching critical installations.
• Ensure all systems are reporting correctly on BMS platforms.
• Provide weekly reports on commissioning progress.
• Create and manage L4 and L5 test scripts in collaboration with the design team and commissioning agents.
• Verify that operational system efficiencies comply with original designs.
• Manage all documentation on BIM360 or similar platforms during the project phase (administration assistance will be provided).
• Provide Level 4 and Level 5 (IST) commissioning reports for each project.
• Provide feedback to the design team on challenges and ideas regarding designs.
• Create safe work procedures for all maintenance activities on systems.
• Review, approve, and provide all handover documentation to the Data Center operations team.
• Work with and oversee commissioning agents and their activities.

Compliance

• Maintain compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
• Support the HR department in achieving organizational development goals within agreed timelines.
• Meet inter-departmental Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
• Monitor health & safety and implement corrective actions to meet statutory compliance, SLAs, and good business practices.
• Implement company and departmental policies, processes, and work instructions as per quality standards and timelines.
• Maintain ISO 14001 and 50001 certifications, and drive action plans and reporting to meet site-specific objectives.
• Ensure compliance by incorporating industry best practices.
