Our client is one of the most prestigious wineries in the world, and they are looking for a Commis Chef to join their team in Cape Town - Stellenbosch. As a Commis Chef you will need to assist the Head Chef and other Senior Chefs.
Requirements :
Culinary Certificate / Diploma;
Preferably 1- 2 years previous experience as Commis Chef in 5-star restaurants;
Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends);
Skills and Responsibilities :
Assisting other chefs in the kitchen
Follow recipes and standards to ensure consistency in preparation of all food items
Assist with deliveries
Daily checks of mis-en-place to ensure quality and freshness standards are met
Product rotation
Menu knowledge
Overall cleanliness and maintenance standards are followed
Procedures and Standards in the kitchen are followed
