Role Purpose

Are you a strategic business development leader with a passion for renewable energy and municipal engagement? We are looking for a Commercial Energy Sales Lead to drive energy sales to municipalities and municipal-connected customers. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in energy policy, stakeholder engagement, and commercial negotiations within the public sector.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and execute strategies to expand energy sales within the municipal sector.

Build and manage relationships with municipal decision-makers, regulatory bodies, and energy managers.

Navigate municipal energy procurement processes and advocate for policy alignment.

Lead negotiations and structure Municipal Energy Supply Agreements (MESAs) and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).

Monitor regulatory developments and engage with stakeholders like Eskom, NERSA, and SALGA.

Develop tailored energy solutions that align with municipal needs and wheeling frameworks.

Represent the company at industry forums, municipal conferences, and regulatory discussions.

Qualifications & Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Policy, Energy Economics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

7–10+ years of experience in business development, regulatory affairs, or public sector energy sales.

Strong understanding of municipal governance, energy regulations, and procurement processes.

Proven stakeholder engagement, lobbying, and contract negotiation skills.

Experience in closing large-scale energy contracts and structuring PPPs.

Passion for renewable energy and the transition to sustainable municipal energy solutions.
