Qualifications

  • 8-15 years' experience in commercial or quantity surveying roles.
  • Professional membership with RICS, SACQSP, or equivalent advantageous.
  • Solid knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, and other contract forms.

Job description

Job Purpose : As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading the commercial strategy and operations of various construction projects.

This includes overseeing budgeting, contract negotiation, risk management, and ensuring profitability.

You'll work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and finance teams to maintain control over the financial and contractual aspects of the business.Key Responsibilities : Manage the commercial performance of multiple construction projects.Prepare and negotiate contracts, tenders, and procurement agreements.Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.Mitigate risks and manage disputes or claims as they arise.Collaborate with site teams to ensure financial accuracy and timely reporting.Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for senior management.Oversee cost planning, value engineering, and variation control.Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliersSupport business development through pricing strategies and tender submissions.Minimum Requirements : Qualifications : Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.Professional membership with RICS, SACQSP, or equivalent (advantageous).Experience : 8–15 years' experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role in construction.Proven experience managing commercial aspects of medium to large-scale building or civil projects.Solid knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, and other contract forms.Skills : Excellent financial and commercial acumen.Strong negotiation and leadership skills.Proficient in MS Excel, BuildSmart, CCS Candy, or similar software.High attention to detail and organizational skills.Create a job alert for this search
