A strong command of MS Word is also required. Competitive salary between R 450,000 - R 500,000 annually.

Our client, a leading commercial law firm in Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Commercial/Litigation Secretary to join their dynamic team.

Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal secretary to support a busy commercial department. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment with diverse responsibilities spanning administration, document management, and client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Excellence
    Comprehensive diary management and meeting coordination
  • Legal Practice Support
    Preparation and organization of legal files and resources; Court document preparation and High Court procedure knowledge; Commercial deadline and court date management; Legal billing and time capture administration; Client account preparation and debtor management
  • Client & Financial Administration
    FICA compliance and documentation management; Trust account monitoring and service provider payments; Pre-billing preparation and client billing coordination; Maintaining comprehensive filing systems (electronic and physical); Client relationship management and contact database maintenance
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a secretary in a law firm environment
  • Matric qualification (Grade 12)
  • Expert-level MS Word skills, particularly Office 365
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and documentation
Advantageous Skills
  • Experience with Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system
  • Knowledge of iManage document management system
  • Familiarity with High Court procedures and documents
