Duties & Responsibilities
- Dictaphone and copy-typing of a wide range of legal documents
- Formatting, compiling, and typing pleadings, notices, and legal correspondence
- Effecting and verifying amendments to legal documents
- Preparing and organizing client, counsel, and resource files
- Diary management and administrative support for multiple legal professionals
- Handling telephone calls, messages, and general office administration
- Preparing billing memos, pre-bills, and liaising with the accounts department
- Managing debtors in coordination with accounts
- FICA administration and follow-up
- Coordinating with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts, and service providers
- Organizing travel logistics including flights, accommodation, transfers, and bookings
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a legal secretary (litigation focus)Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word (2010+) and ExcelExperience using Aderant Expert (CMS) and FileSite systemsMatric is essential ; legal secretarial diploma or paralegal qualification is advantageous, but highly preferredExceptional organisational and multitasking abilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to work under pressureConfidential, reliable, punctual, and proactiveStrong client relationship and time management skills
