Job description

Job Function:

To provide in-depth financial and analytical support to the Finance Director and Commercial leaders to enhance decision making quality, performance management and planning, thereby improving long-term profitability and sustainability of the company’s financial health.

Key Performance Areas:

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Develop, manage, and maintain financial models and performance reports that align with business goals.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Deliver monthly reports and in-depth performance analysis for senior leadership tracking financial performance, cost saving initiatives and operational efficiency.
• Strategic Planning
• Provide detailed financial analysis on ad hoc projects, focusing on cost-effectiveness and commercial feasibility.
• Develop and oversee financial policies, ensuring alignment with business objectives. o Identify opportunities for cost savings and drive process improvements.
• Manage the annual planning process including preparation and dissemination of the planning timetable, obtain commercial and functional inputs and consolidating into a comprehensive winning plan.
• Support business strategic planning initiatives to drive growth and profitability

Business Partnering

• Collaborate closely with commercial teams, delivering timely financial insights on key initiatives.
• Support the commercial team with data-driven recommendations for ROI optimization.
• Assess the financial suitability of all major Capex investments and other business development projects including preparation of justification and AFEs ((Authority for Expenditures).
• Support negotiations with new principals, existing principals and monitor the profitability of existing business on a regular basis.
• Review supplier agreements, and support negotiations, with a focus on improving returns and profitability.
• Maintain contract and SLA registers for principals and suppliers
• Drive and manage the cost savings initiatives within the business
• Drive procurement process adherence to business and group requirements

Risk Management

• Manage the organization’s financial risks and opportunities, ensuring adherence to regulations.
• Continuously monitor financial performance, devising strategies to enhance profitability and minimize risks.
• Perform in-depth analytical review of commercial performance to identify any risks and opportunities.

Operational Support

• Partner with the commercial team to design customized deal structures and explore innovative business models.
• General
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Finance Director, Managing Director, and other senior leaders related to the role.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting / Finance
• CA (SA) will be an added advantage

Skills and experience required:

• 5 – 10 years’ experience of which minimum 5 should be in Management Accounting, Finance Business Partnering or related roles.
• Highly analytical and able to triangulate multiple data sets.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Thinking creatively and out of the box
