Commercial Executive - Courier & Logistics Sector

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage a large national commercial team to drive revenue, yield, and profit performance.
  2. Define and execute the national sales strategy, aligned to business growth and profitability goals.
  3. Design and implement best-in-class sales processes, performance metrics, and structured sales funnels.
  4. Drive acquisition of new business while maintaining strong retention and satisfaction among existing clients.
  5. Establish and oversee a well-organised sales and marketing structure, fostering a performance and customer-centric culture.
  6. Develop and implement strategic pricing, marketing plans, and sales incentive programmes to boost market share and revenue.
  7. Provide actionable market and competitor intelligence to inform strategy and tactical execution.
  8. Build strong relationships with key customers and ensure consistent service excellence and commercial engagement.
  9. Facilitate strategic planning cycles, sales reviews, and continuous improvement sessions across the national commercial division.
  10. Act as the brand's commercial custodian – building a visible, quality brand image through value-driven offerings and customer loyalty.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8 years in senior commercial leadership roles, ideally in courier, logistics, or related industries.
  • Proven experience leading national sales teams of 20+ members with measurable commercial success.
  • Track record of achieving growth through new business development, client retention, and structured key account management.
  • Strong business acumen with advanced negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Well-versed in pricing strategy development, sales reporting, and performance analytics.
  • Comfortable working in high-energy, fast-paced environments with a strong 'hunter' mindset and passion for market expansion.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel nationally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is essential.
