Qualifications

Job description

A Renewable Energy developer and investor is currently on the lookout for a Commercial Director, who will be the leader of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of PV Solar and wind projects in South Africa.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction or Similar

Minimum of 10 years of experience, with industry experience within Renewable Energy, Power Utilities, Manufacturing, and or Construction

Minimum of 5 years senior-level managerial experience

Project Management Knowledge.

Industry Specific Knowledge.

OSH Act & other applicable Health & Safety Acts based on environment.

Tender & Project process & procedure.

Detailed understanding of the design and operation of modern protection relay technology and

substation automation and its application through to commissioning.

Detailed understanding of the design of primary electrical plant in transmission and distribution

substations.

Detailed understanding of design and operation of substation control systems through to SCADA

systems (Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition).

A working knowledge of the civil and mechanical engineering aspects of substations and

overhead power lines.

Strong commercial mindset with a solid knowledge of Project and Corporate Finance concepts

Strong understanding of the renewable energy industry, its drivers, KPIs, and decision

processes

Strong existing network in the South African renewable energy sector

At least 8 - 10 years of work experience in the South African Renewable Energy Project

Development and / or EPC Sales sector

Salary : R2 million – R1.3 million per annum
