Purpose Of The Role Ivanhoe Marketing is a newly established Commodity marketing, Sales and Logistics entity within the Ivanhoe Group of Companies.
This Role Is Primarily Responsible For
Sales and accounts receivable
Purchases of inventory and inventory management
Financial and management reporting
Budgeting and forecasting
Duties And Responsibilities
Sales and accounts receivable
Analysing large sets of sales and logistics data in the operational system and performing data validation checks
Preparation of metal and logistics services sales invoice calculations
Preparation of cost of sales calculations
Preparation of sales orders, obtaining relevant approvals and generating invoices in the ERP system
Comparing sales volumes to warehouse data and timeous liaison with logistics team on any discrepancies noted
Preparing the sales related certificates in line with agreements
Updating the operational system with invoice data monthly
Verifying discrepancies and resolving customers’ billing issues
Reconciling the debtors ageing and debtors’ ledger
Perform mark to market calculations and process these in the ERP system
Purchases of inventory and inventory management
Analysing large sets of purchase data in the operational system and performing data validation checks
Preparation of purchase of concentrate calculations and timeous liaison with supplier to resolve discrepancies
Preparation of inventory purchase orders and obtaining relevant approvals
Receipting of inventory in the ERP system
Monthly bag level reconciliation of sales, cost of sales and inventory to general ledger
ERP system reconciliation to the operational system
Mark to market calculations performed and processed in the ERP system
Attendance of inventory stock counts in Africa
Financial and management reporting
Preparation of notes and inputs to the financial statements in accordance with IFRS
Preparation of notes and inputs to the management accounts
Prepare slides for inclusion in the monthly performance report (MPR)
Facilitate external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations timeously
Budgeting and forecasting
Assist the Financial Manager in preparing the budget model and presentation
Track sales, cost of sales and inventory balances in relation to budgeted amounts and provide commentary for variances
Other
Payments on an ad hoc basis
Back-fill for Financial Accountant in their absence
Provide day-to-day business decision support on various financial and accounting topics
Experience Required
Honours' degree in Accounting/Finance
CA (SA) or CIMA qualification is an advantage
3 - 4 years’ experience in a Commercial / Management accountant or similar role
Experience in the mining / natural resources or commodity trading industries a distinct advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience in ERP systems, with JDE experience considered advantageous
