About the job: Commercial Accountant

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Assisting Divisional Executive with cost and sales analysis and report
2. Preparing forecasting estimates and variance analysis
3. Preparation and analysis of various monthly Sales Reports and Sales Estimates
4. Preparation of Costings and Maintaining all costing data on the system
5. Analysing data and costings for cost saving initiatives
6. To drive each change through to completion with the aid of the various departments
7. Use knowledge and experience to challenge data where necessary
8. Review costings of all products and be able to determine pricing for all Sales related queries
9. Preparation and Analysis of quarterly pricing data bases
10. Maintaining accurate gross margin records and reconciling to monthly income statements issued by the finance department
11. Month end schedules and reports on various costs, margins etc
12. Preparation of and continuous improvements on key management statistics in the business (R/kg, throughput, number of wage heads)
13. Preparation of annual budgets, ad hoc tenders and new product launch documents
14. Helping the Divisional Executive and Financial Exec with ad hoc assignments

Qualifications and experience:

1. B Com/B Compt with accounting subjects
2. Minimum 2 years work experience in an accounting or production environment
3. Manufacturing cost accounting will be advantageous
4. SAP experience will be advantageous
5. Advanced Excel and Microsoft office
