As the Commerce Analytics Lead, you will play a crucial role in bridging business units and IT, ensuring analytics initiatives align with business objectives across South Africa and key African markets. You will drive data literacy, improve data asset utilization, and lead analytics projects to help organizations unlock the full potential of their data. Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, IT, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in analytics, business-IT liaison roles, or a similar field.
Proven experience in data management, data governance, and project management.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee analytics projects from demand management through to delivery.
Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, such as Managing Directors and Functional Directors, to drive analytics initiatives.
Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing cross-functional teams to align analytics with business objectives.
Ability to drive data literacy programs and advocate for the adoption of data assets across business.
Experience in identifying competency gaps and organizing relevant training or learning sessions.
Strong understanding of data governance policies and practices.
Ability to conduct access reviews, manage data access permissions, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and external regulations.
Ability to work across diverse geographies and cultures, particularly in African markets.
Understanding of the African business landscape, local market dynamics, and regulatory environments is a significant advantage.
