Qualifications

  • Admission of Attorney/ Advocate is required.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience, with at least 5 at a comparable level.
  • Sound understanding of Local Government Sector and stakeholder engagement skills.

Job description

Purpose:

Provide specialist support, advice and capacity building services to municipalities on all matters relating to Collective Bargaining, Dispute Resolution and Labour Relations and provide HR support through tailored interventions to ensure strengthened labour relations in the LG Sector and improved employer-employee relationships in Municipalities.

Qualification

  • Admission of Attorney/ Advocate
  • LLB/Proc or related postgraduate Law Degree (preferably with a Masters' Degree)
  • Valid Driver's Licence

Experience:

  • At least 10 years' relevant experience of which at least 5 years have been at an equivalent level within a medium to large sized organisation involved in collective bargaining and negotiations;
  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of the Local Government Sector
  • Sound track record in effectively managing complex and sensitive stakeholder engagements at all levels.
  • Politically astute with sound track record for lobbying and advocacy of positions
