Job description

Our client, a leading supplier of Food and Meat products to the catering and hospitality industries, is seeking to appoint a Cold Storage Warehouse Manager at their plant in Montague Gardens, near Cape Town.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise the packing of products and stock in the freezers.
  2. Operate forklifts and manage loading and offloading trucks.
  3. Manage waste disposal processes.
  4. Motivate staff to work efficiently and correctly, ensuring attendance and proper use of protective clothing.
  5. Assist in planning stock picking, stacking, and storage for daily operations.
  6. Monitor stock levels, communicate needs to managers, and ensure proper stock rotation and labeling.
  7. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and quality standards in the storage areas.
  8. Train new personnel in stacking, storage, and packing procedures.
  9. Manage equipment maintenance and report faults.
  10. Attend meetings and resolve stock or operational issues promptly.

  • Enforce food safety, quality, and health & safety policies and procedures.
Equipment Management
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operational.
General Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Report shortages or damages immediately.
