Company Description

Marking Solutions is an importer and distributor of Coding and Marking printers that print batch codes on various products. We are the exclusive agent for the Leibinger Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) printer in South Africa and supply various blue-chip manufacturers, in KZN, JHB and Cape Town. Further to this, we have developed our own private label brand called Marksol. Under this brand, we import our own brand of printers from China and sell Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) Printers and Laser printers to companies in various industries.

Role Description

For this specific role you will be responsible for managing and looking after a selection of approximately 30 Leibinger Continuous Inkjet Printers which are based at 4 key manufacturing sites in Pietermaritzburg.

The environment which you will be working in, is typically a manufacturing facility where it is fast paced and stressful. Our printer(s) are integrated on our customers production lines and when there is a printer break down it is key that you are able to work under pressure and keep a level head to identify what the issue is and then deliver on solving the issue and getting the line back online.

As important as having the necessary skill set to be able to work on a Continuous Inkjet Printer, you need to be able to work in a stressful and high-pressured environment and be able to handle customers who are hard to work with and might get irritated with you, as they want their production line to start working.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with coding and marking printers at our customers manufacturing facilities, ensuring accurate and efficient operation. Some of the issues you will be responsible for include:

  • Making sure all printers have ink and solvent before production starts
  • Jet alignment issues
  • Nozzle blockages
  • Suction pump failures
  • Planned service call outs
  • Loss of pressure, mainly pressure pump faults
  • charge electrode replacements
  • phasing faults

Our head office is based in Johannesburg, we have a satellite workshop based in Pinetown, where spare parts and consumables are stored as well as a facility for you to repair any damaged printers. You will be responsible for managing your customers and dealing with issues by yourself independently.

This position is for someone who works well under pressure, is able to manage themselves professionally especially in situations where there is a lot of pressure and stress from customers. You will need to be able to solve issues, think out the box and be independent.
