Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Code 14 Truck Driver with a strong background in transporting abnormal loads and assisting with rigging operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of heavy vehicle operation, safety procedures, and the logistics required to move oversized or heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Code 14 trucks to transport abnormal/oversized loads across various routes.
  • Assist with the rigging, loading, securing, and offloading of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and rigging equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with road safety laws and transport regulations.
  • Work closely with rigging and site teams to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, inspections, and incidents.
  • Ensure loads are correctly balanced and secured using the correct equipment (chains, straps, etc.).
  • Navigate and assess routes suitable for abnormal load transport.
  • Adhere to company policies, including health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Valid Code 14 (EC) Drivers License with PDP.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with abnormal load transport.
  • Proven rigging experience (Rigger certification advantageous).
  • Sound knowledge of load securing, weight distribution, and heavy machinery handling.
  • Experience with escorting requirements and permit procedures for abnormal loads.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Clean driving record and sober habits.
  • Willingness to travel and work long or irregular hours when required.
