Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience driving large trucks, with 5 years abnormal/super link.
• Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) required.
• Good driving record with minimal traffic violations.

Job description

• Mandatory requirement to operate a heavy-duty truck with a trailer.

Public Driver’s Permit (PDP) :

• Necessary for professional driving within South Africa.

Mandatory Experience :

• Minimum 10 years’ experience driving large trucks, with a minimum of 5 years abnormal / super link

Good driving record :

• Clean driving history with minimal traffic violations.

Physical fitness :

• Ability to handle the physical demands of loading, unloading, and prolonged driving periods.

Basic mechanical knowledge :

Job responsibilities :

Safe driving :

Operating a Code 14 truck with utmost care, following all traffic laws and safety procedures.

Loading and unloading :

Securely loading and unloading cargo at designated delivery points, ensuring proper handling of goods.

Route planning :

Following assigned routes efficiently, considering traffic conditions and delivery schedules.

Vehicle inspection :

Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues and report them promptly.

Documentation :

Maintaining accurate paperwork including delivery receipts, logbooks, and other required documentation.

Compliance :

Adhering to all relevant transport regulations, including load limits and working hours.

Communication :

Maintaining clear communication with dispatchers, clients, and other stakeholders regarding delivery updates and any potential issues.
