Job summary

Research-Square is seeking a CNC Service Technician to maintain, repair and optimise CNC metalworking machines at customer sites. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out machine overhauls across diverse industrial environments.

The role requires a hands-on, independent approach with the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, and to collaborate with engineering teams for effective service solutions.

Qualifications

• Red Seal trade-tested qualification or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining and servicing CNC or metalworking machines.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Willingness to work at different customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC metalworking machines at customer sites and other locations.
• Diagnosing and resolving technical faults, wear and defects to keep machines operating reliably.
• Carrying out machine overhauls, repairs and modifications to improve machine performance and extend equipment life.
• Performing geometrical measurements, inspections and quality checks to ensure machine accuracy and performance.
• Working across mechanical systems, electrical engineering and machine control technology.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, mechanical documentation and electrical schematics.
• Collaborating with colleagues and other technical departments to deliver effective service solutions.
• Working safely and in accordance with applicable technical standards and electrical safety regulations.

Research-Square is looking for a CNC Service Technician to join a leading technical service provider specialising in the maintenance, repair and optimisation of industrial machinery and technical installations.

In this role, you will work with CNC metalworking machines at various customer locations, ensuring that equipment remains reliable, accurate and operational. You'll take on a variety of technical challenges, from troubleshooting breakdowns and performing routine maintenance to carrying out machine overhauls, modifications and precision measurements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on technician who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems and working with a variety of machinery in different industrial environments.
