CNC Operators

On any given day, an operator may unload raw materials, prepare a test run to ensure a machine is working properly, inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :

• Set up or program the computer responsible for the machinery
• Follow safety requirements and maintain certifications
• Inspect the machinery and product for quality assurance
• Perform daily maintenance on the machinery
• Handle materials appropriately and safely

POST REQUIREMENTS :

• Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy)
• NQF Level 5 as a Fitter Turner, Tool Maker or Turner Machinist (Artisan)
• CNC Certificate and / or CNC Qualifications will be advantageous
• At least 3 years' experience as a CNC Operator
• Ability to programme, setup and operate CNC Machines
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Ability to use various measuring tools and work with minimum tolerance
• Clear criminal record and no pending criminal cases
