CNC Milling Programmer and Operator Lenasia

Job Purpose :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Milling Programmer and Operator with hands-on experience using Edgecam, Haas, and Hurco CNC milling machines.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components—particularly for applications in plastic injection moulding and tool steel machining.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Program and operate CNC milling machines (Haas and Hurco) using Edgecam software.
2. Interpret and utilize 2D and 3D CAD drawings within Edgecam to generate accurate toolpaths.
3. Work with various CAD file formats including DXF, DWG, IGES, and XT.
4. Set up jobs and select appropriate tools and cutters for machining processes.
5. Ensure dimensional accuracy by measuring components according to engineering drawings and maintaining tight tolerances of ±0.02mm.
6. Machine a variety of tool steels in different hardness states (soft, pre-hardened, and up to 54 HRC).
7. Use edge finders, finger clocks, probes, and other alignment methods to accurately clock jobs.
8. Manage multiple parts and programs with different G-code offsets efficiently.
9. Maintain high standards of machine cleanliness, maintenance, and operational safety.
10. Work independently while maintaining clear communication with engineering and production teams.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills :

1. Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC programming and operation, specifically on Haas and Hurco machines.
2. Proficiency in Edgecam for drawing, toolpath generation, and post-processing.
3. Strong understanding of tool selection, feed and speed calculations, and material behavior (especially tool steels).
4. Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and perform quality inspections using standard measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
5. Experience with plastic injection mould tooling is a significant advantage.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
7. Ability to work from technical drawings with minimal supervision.
