CNC Mill, Lathe & CAD / CAM Trainer & Application Engineer

Company based in Sunnyrock, Germiston urgently needs a CNC Mill, Lathe - CAD / CAM Trainer & Applications Engineer.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of CNC Mill & Lathe (Programming & Operating)
• Experience with EDGECAM, Mastercam, or SolidWorks
• Availability for Saturday training (2 Saturdays a month)

Job Summary:

As an Applications Engineer & Training Facilitator for CAD CAM software and Metrology equipment, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise, application support, and training to customers and internal teams. You will ensure the successful implementation and utilization of CAD CAM and Metrology solutions. A strong engineering background, CAD CAM software knowledge, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Toolmaker / Fitter and Turner (advantageous)
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in milling and lathe operations
• Proficiency in programming CNC machines using CAM software and G-code
• Experience with EDGECAM, Mastercam, or SolidWorks
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining principles, tooling, and materials
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to adapt training methods to diverse learning styles
• Patient and approachable demeanor with a passion for teaching

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to demonstrate and supervise hands-on training activities
• Comfortable working in a machine shop environment

Application Support:

• Provide prompt, accurate technical support via phone, email, chat
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, conduct investigations
• Collaborate with development teams to escalate complex issues

Responsibilities:

• Training Program Development: Design and develop comprehensive training programs, create instructional materials and exercises
• Classroom Instruction: Conduct theoretical training on CNC & CAD/CAM principles, programming, and safety, using multimedia tools
• Hands-On Training: Lead practical sessions, guide machine setup, tooling, programming, troubleshooting
• Skill Assessment: Evaluate trainee performance, provide feedback, stay updated with industry advancements
• Documentation: Maintain training records, prepare manuals, collaborate to improve training programs
