CNC Machinist

Job description – CNC machine setter and operator

Minimum requirements:

• Fluent in English
• High school graduation with minimum 50% Mathematics
• CNC lathe turner or CNC milling machinist - minimum 3 years of CNC turning/milling experience as a setter & operator.
• Trade school completion with CNC milling/turning
• Skilled and experienced with precision vernier & micrometeor measuring

Job Function: Setup Spring Coiling Machine CNC Settings & Production Control

• You will be trained to setup and operate CNC spring coiling machines to manufacture springs as per customer drawings, customer samples or specifications.
• After 3 months training, you will be evaluated against efficiency of setup, accuracy of parts produced and general competency.
• Ensure the necessary tooling (including spare tooling) is available, stored neatly and maintained in good condition. You will ensure that the machines are operated with care and precision, and kept clean handover condition according to 5S principles.
• Ensure consistent master setup records, data, instructions and programs are maintained.
• Monitor and adhere to quality control parameters for the spring parts produced

• Contract period of 3 months to pass competency evaluation test; thereafter permanent.
• Rate offered R100-140/hr depending on experience
