Job Summary
The Caregiver provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions, enabling individuals to remain in their own homes.
Responsibilities
- Report observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager.
- Immediately notify the Agency Director of any incidents or accidents.
- Drive safely, comply with traffic regulations, and wear a seat belt during business travel.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including:
- Bathing (bed, tub, or shower)
- Hair care (shampoo, combing, brushing)
- Oral care (teeth, dentures)
- Nail care (filing only)
- Skin care (pericare, lotion application)
- Transfers (bed to chair, wheelchair)
- Assisting with toileting (bedpan, commode, toilet)
- Help with household tasks directly related to personal care.
Education and Experience
Experience is preferred, especially in home care. Successful completion of a competency evaluation is required.
License Requirements
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
- For Arkansas (AR): Private Care-Licensed Agencies must have completed a 40-hour aide training course approved by the Arkansas Department of Health and be certified as a personal care aide.
