Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality, leisure or sports clubs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

CLUB MANAGER -- PADEL CLUB

We are looking for an energetic, commercially minded and hands-on Club Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and growth of our padel club in Hermanus.

This is not simply an administrative management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, building a community and actively driving the performance of the club.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the overall club experience -- from ensuring the courts and facilities are maintained to a high standard, to managing staff, growing bookings, organising events and developing relationships with local businesses, schools and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the club and ensure consistently high facility standards.

• Manage and motivate club staff, including rostering, training and performance management.

• Drive court bookings, events, coaching, rentals and other club revenue opportunities.

• Actively market the club to local businesses, schools, corporates and community organisations.

• Plan and deliver social events, tournaments, coaching days and community activations.

• Develop initiatives to increase off-peak court utilisation.

• Build and grow the club's player community and encourage repeat bookings.

• Ensure customers receive a professional, welcoming and responsive experience.

• Develop partnerships with local businesses and identify sponsorship opportunities.

• Oversee POS procedures, daily reconciliations and basic club financial controls.

• Monitor maintenance, safety and presentation of courts, equipment and clubhouse facilities.

• Provide regular performance reporting covering revenue, utilisation, marketing, staffing and operations.

• Identify and implement new ideas to grow the club and improve its overall performance.

Previous experience in hospitality, leisure, sports clubs, gyms, events, retail management or customer-facing operations would be advantageous.

Knowledge of padel is beneficial, but enthusiasm, attitude and commercial ability are more important.
