Job summary

Virgin Active South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Maintenance professional to oversee preventative and reactive maintenance within our Paarl club. You will manage facility systems, oversee H&S compliance, and coordinate with General Manager and Regional Facility Manager on budgets and contractor requests.

The role requires hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building equipment, plus strong team management and a commitment to club standards and member safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years proven maintenance experience.
• Hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and plant equipment.
• Understanding of H&S principles and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on gym equipment, pool/spa, HVAC, hot/cold water, and building systems.
• Carry out reactive maintenance and respond to emergencies.
• Upskill onsite maintenance staff and coordinate with managers on contractor requests.
• Monitor health and safety processes and ensure compliance with club policies.
• Manage utility consumption and investigate high water/electricity usage.
• Assist in budgeting for Maintenance Premises, Physical Plant, Pools, Water Hygiene, Grounds, Consumables, and Health & Safety.
