The role of the Senior Cloud Engineer is to provide support, maintenance and administration on all cloud systems and services we provide. The Senior Cloud Engineer's primary focus needs to be on private hypervisor technologies as well as other systems and applications that make up cloud computing.
Senior Cloud Engineers provide support, maintenance, and administration on various components of a cloud computing environment, including but not limited to, hardware support, software support and network support. Being the last point of contact for clients, the Senior Cloud Engineer is expected to be professional, helpful and to aid with a sense of urgency, regardless of the level of incident. The role aims to exceed the client's expectations in dealing with any incidents or service requests.
The Cloud Support Engineer must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively and professionally to understand the problem and explain its solution. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate and work under pressure when required is essential. This individual needs to be able to work individually or as a team and cross-skill and mentor the junior members of staff.
Required Experience minimum 5 years professional experience in a support engineer role (providing first and second-line support):
Leader in providing seamless Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions. Over 20 years operating.
